Kyrenia, North Cyprus Property

The historical harbour town of Kyrenia is located in North Cyprus. In its prime, the port in Kyrenia was a haven built for and facilitating the exports of the countryside produce such as fruit and vegetables.

Constructed by the Venetians in 1540 AD the exquisite castle located at the east side of the harbour boasts a 12th Century Chapel. Within Kyrenia Castle’s courtyard is located the Ship Wreck Museum. The Museum has afnastic exhibit of what is left of a 4th Century Greek Ship that was resurected not too far from Kyrenia along with its cargo. The wreck is known as the Kyrenia Ship. There are two other noteworthy Castles that are located in Kyrenia. The other two are called The Byzantine Castle and The Crusader Castle.

Another Museum located in Kyrenia is the Icon Museum. This Museum can be found in a Church that was devoted to the Archangel Michael.

Located a short distance outside of the main town is the Kyrenia Mountain Range. On the North Coast of Northern Cyprus this mountain range is roughly 100 miles long. The range is mainly made up of limestone with some marble.
